Hey chaps my daytona, that I've only had for a few weeks. Has started having a strange speedo glich....namely when going along at about 60/70mph....my speedo will read 33 then 47 then 75 then 64mph. Also the temperature gauge will read lo then jump to 151f then go up to 213f. I know,as the fan still kicks in and more importantly switches off again, that this probably is'nt 'bike threatening.....but it is hugely annoying. Any advice/info that can be sent my way would very well recieved. many thanks in advance. JoeLee

Check the main connector at the back of the clocks.

cheers
Thanks Riggsy.......I will. Also I,ve just picked up a carbon can, it's a Triumph one(not for road use.....yeah right!) Any way whats the story with remapping/ power commanders etc...? Basically what's best for the bike, as I'm not really a power hungry loony and just want that lovely "bark". Cheers

Your local dealer can upload the tune required for the loud pipe - check in advance for cost. If you do it as part of a service he may not charge.... in any case it shouldn't be much

My dealer downloads the latest tunes for free; bloody should, considering what they charge for labour! Joe, check the speedo sensor housing isn't damaged; mine had a chunck missing from the top where it had been hit by a stone or something. The insides had chewed itself up and the only option was to replace it. Hope this isn't the case fro you.

Cheers bro
Obi Wan sir I have had a look around the housing, seems fine, but as the problem does occur more often when I don't cover it for the night it would make sense that its a moisture in places it should'nt be. On another note..... I'm about to do a service and was wondering how extensive it needs to be...Bought the bike in september 06 with 11000 miles on it. Since then I've put on more than 6000 miles! The seller said that he had just done oil/filters, plugs etc....but I just 'feel' some TLC should be forthcoming and soon! Any advice from you or any of you other fine chaps out there...would be.....frankly marvellous! Thanks in advance JoeLee

They are due a "full service" at 12K which includes the valve clearances. As you have an '02 (same as me) its unlikely the clearances would have closed up enough to need an adjustment. I wouldn't leave it much longer though as you've put 6K on it again now. If you don't have a service history with the bike I'd suggest its time to do the works. Most of it is pretty standard stuff, iirc the "major service" included : Valve clearances, Fork Oil, Check and re-grease all bearings (especially head and rear suspension) Balance Throttle bodies Change Fuel Filter Plus all the normal fluids! If you get Triumph to do it be prepared for a big Bill
