locked up gearbox
the bike was out of gear just about to ride off. I put it in gear and it stalled, no gear would select correctly, when neutral light was on it was still in gear but you could not push forward or backwards even with clutch in. the bike has done 11900 miles so far trouble free. It is the best bike I have ever owned and i have had a few. I have just done a round trip of 800 mile through France on it and it never missed a beat. It is now out of warranty the dealer cannot look at it until the 27th so will not know what has gone wrong. don't worry about it they make brilliant bikes I am sure this will be a one off

Not sure what to tell you mate........obviously needs further investigation, ( I had an XJ750 that after 90K the rubber from the primary chain tensioner would break off and jam the selector drum)......no mechanical damage, just needed a FULL strip to get the broken rubber out ( and a new tensioner).........I don't even know if primary/ or alternator drives on these triples are chain or gear.......... Good luck, hopefully it's something simple (gulp)... Maybe IF it's catastrophic failure, Triumph might meet you half way..providing you have all the service stamps.??

My old Guzzi once got stuck in 3rd gear......well, almost! I could get 3rd, 4th, 5th................but nothing lower? So, once I got home I drained the gearbox with a view to stripping it - but didn't bother! Refilled it with EP90 + Molyslip, and 60K miles later, still haven't stripped it - still OK??????
