The two are not connected in any way. But i wanted to show you guys the state of my radiator fan.

I stripped down fairings and radiator of my t595 and since i have Never opened a bike before, this was a big step for me,...i am a beginner, yes. My radiator fan was melted (from previous owner of the bike) and was grinding against the radiator. Thanks for the link to Muzzys. The new aluminium fan fits Perfectly.

Here is what it looked like :

here it is beside Muzzys

Here is the radiator,..previous owner had a custom one fitted in. You can see on the left the circular mark the fan was starting to grind in it. Nasty...

While i had the bike open, i put in some Xenon lights in it which look much nicer.

Now to the question about the Stebel horn. I bought this one based on a suggestion in another thread :

http://www.nippynormans.c.....m=5&mitem=5

Here are the two cables (plus, minus) that go to my factory horn.

Inline Image

and here is the Stebel Horn

Inline Image

you can see on the body there are two connectors. When i hooked it up straight to my plus minus cables it sounded like a fart. On the side there is a relay which i am figuring comes somehow in the equation but i have no idea how. I must be electrically challenged. Any ideas how to hook this thing up guys ?

thanks a lot

These are the links i found on the subject of the horn :

WebBikeWorld, connecting a horn relay :

http://www.webbikeworld.c.....-horn-relay.htm

101 of Relays :

http://www.rattlebars.com/mtz/hornrelay.html

Installing the Stebel on a Suzuki :

http://www.twistedthrottl.....oductview/2137/

where the guy mentions the horn does NOT come with relay cables,...true enough

which led me to this :

Easternbeaver horn relay cable kit :

http://www.easternbeaver....../horns_kit.html

anybody done anything similar ?

[edited]:

did you try putting 12v directly to the horn?
(just in case there is a remote possibility that there is a problem with it)

as your horn is supplied with a relay this suggests it demands quite a high current ...

iirc the other t595 thread suggested the Stebel Magnum not the Nautilus.
Suspect, aswell as needing a relay, the Nautilus is physically bigger than the Magnum.

From what i found out in my research seems it Does need higher current. I ordered the wiring set from Eastern Beaver. Will post pictures when it gets here,..maybe it will be of use to someone. Jim at EasternBeaver was very helpful.

Boycie,...i didnt try that yet. I will tonight. Cant wait to hear the sound of it. Apparently it has the qualities of a "derailed train coming at you". Should help in Hollywood rush hour : )

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Cheers, Mac Inger - while it can't compare with those pics, this one on the rat net might be helpful. You REALLY need to use the relay for that horn.

If I can be any help, drop a note or post again.
Good luck!

Mille grazie Vincenzo : )
Unbelievable the amount of info that is around here. I was about to go buying cables and connectors and so on at radio shack,..but ive been pretty busy with work, so i figured id order the EasternBeaver set of cables and make it easy on myself.

I will post when they get here with pictures of the installation.

cheers
