If one has not been riding ones bike in the winter months/for a prolonged spell - PRIOR to setting off (along with all the other relevant checks) ensure that a: you can physically remove/unsrew the filler cap and b: grease the threads for good measure to ensure that operation remains easy Whatever you do.....DON'T just fire it up and fuck off at 6am, hoon down the A3 only for the fuel light to come on, then attempt to make it another 15 miles or so on a very open throttle, only to find that you then can't get the bastard cunting fucking arsehole of a 'welded shut' thing off... Very bruised fingers...(big dark thumbnail now ) and lots of swearing - sorted (what a fucking TWAT!) 'tis now greased properly

Just had the same thing happen on my TBS, got to petrol station, could I F*** unscrew the filler cap, luckily only a mile from home, so returned and "persuaded" it, threads and sealing washer now coated with grease

Ash: A word of advice - screw on fuel filler caps |
I'm sorry, not laughing AT you, but you do paint quite a picture.
