very nice bike tho! Oh, if I had a bit of cash...

I've always liked T140 Execs. Any views, anyone?

TBH they are nice bikes.
May be my memory but the nose fairing looks too big. (May be the camera angle)

Not sure why there is a piccy of a spare head, carbs and filter though.

No of owners = 6, with 21K miles in >25years??

Could be a bit of a bargain (Currently £1400) but I reckon its a Lemon.

Shame, Bloke I worked with had exactly the same model (Mid 80's) and I loved that bike.

If I had the wedge I'd bid for that. Very pretty, would make a nice addition to the T120!

The odd angle I believe is due to it being ratcheted down on a trailer - it did make me wonder as well.

These are lovely bikes - and if I had a bit of Spare, it'd be mine. However, I don't...

oh, and the spare head is coz he converted it to Tiger spec - single Amal Mk1 1/2. Execs had twin Bing CV carbs.

I had one of them, in that colour when they first came out in 81 except mine was an electric start model and electric start failed shortly after delivery. The bike came with Amal MK2 carbs with a choke lever mounted on the left handlebar rather than the earlier Bonnie MK2 carbs had a lever on the left hand side of the left carb. I remember that you could buy a CV carb conversion for about £100 to replace the twin carbs but as it came complete with the inlet manifold it didn't mean you had to replace the fucking head aswell so why someone has doen this is beyond me

The fairing is correct but I wonder if the fact that it doesn't have a leccy start is a clue to something more sinister ???

Oh and if it was £900 I still wouldn't buy it

CBFB - good point - why no leccy start? Mind you, as you say, they were never a serious option.

The CVs were indeed a kit option. I've known people keep separate head for single carb spec, tho its only a bolt on manifold. particularly easy on E type heads with the parallel inlets. Some people, eh?

Didn't the choke lever position change to there for 1981? God, kill me now. I hate anoraks. They do chafe so....

I don't pretend to be an expert, but my time working at Ted's as a Saturday boy sometimes come in handy.

Why I do believe you are correct kind sir as the photo of my 81 US Spec Bonnie will testify

Photo Album Image

As you will clearly see the choke lever is indeed mounted on the left hand handlebar

Unfortunately no photos of my T140E Bonnie Executive exist, some God bothering cnut in a Cortina MK3 saw to that

Q: hi, do you also have the small fairing that matches the panniers , i assume it's the executive model? thanks 03-Aug-07
A: Sorry no ,it has dissapeared in one of my house moves

Yea, like that always happens. You move house and the fairing disapears from your bike

I'm too scared to move just in case the swingarm on my SP3 go's fucking walkabout
