The good news is that I've remembered to get my entry stuff in, so I should make the grid this time at least

Thanks mate, I will. However, I think to turn respectable lap times into competetive ones, I need to get nearer the edge of my comfort zone, not so easy for a lilly-livered old wanker who's just turned 50 though

Would be interested in some discs yes, I'm financially embarrassed until the end of this month though, will make you a sensible offer when I've straightened things out if that's ok ? Having said that, don't wait for me if someone else comes up with the sort of dosh you're after in the mean time.

As a matter of interest Tony, have you had much success setting up the earlier 955cc engines on your dyno ? I know you got good figures from your late engine. I don't think masses more horsepower is necessarily the answer to my problems but a bit more is always welcome.

Cheers mate

Yes, we had success with both early and late engines. 123 from an early one and all but 140 from the later one. We also got a lot more midrange which helped quite a lot driving out of corners. The bike wasn't slow against any machine it was put up against on the track (even the early engined one) just the rider was a bit like you and was very hesitant in getting back on the throttle after the first high side....due to the lack of a decent handling frame which was its big drawback even after spending mucho wonga on the suspension..it really is not up to it against the likes of Ducati's and Aprilla's. I went faster round Darley on the 749 on road tyres than on the slick shod Trumpet in a race....

They're a penny a litre cheaper to run in Norfolk at the moment.

Jayne could've saved herself a quid last night!

the one where I said i was talking to one of the guys who hit you at mallory....apperantly you were hit by more than one bike. The chap said he was sorry he didn't mean to do it. he spent ten minutes uncocious before they realized he was out of it. he was very apologetic indeed when |I said I knew you.....

Sorry X-Man, got busy and missed your thread. I recall someone clipping me from the left but it didn't feel like much and then Chris Matthews with the big impact on my right. Was there someone else? Or do you have another account. I'm all ears.

Peter, Oops! you were right I Qualified 12th but I was given 10th slot? Nino Cataldo qualified 7th but doesn't show on the Grid Order sheet. Chris qualified 5th and should have been on the second row but was given grid 31. Maybe the confusion was with where they ended up putting Nino? There was a lot of fuss behind me on getting positions after warm up.

The other guy (gary Henrikson Aprilla 1000) said he hit you pretty hard; hard enough to make him crash pretty hard and get knocked unconcious, and he thinks that him hitting you probably pushed you into the path of the Ducati. He was very upset at what had happened and was very apologetic even before he knew that I knew you IYSWIM. Twas a freak accident by his account and he mentioned that the grid was all over the place but didn't know why.....hope that helps a bit.

Thanks for that, yea it does shed some light, I didn't know he was involved but I am baffled as to how Gary was knocked unconscious. The impact on my left seamed to me a light glancing impact unless there was a second from that side that I don't recall in the confusion, making a total of three bikes involved.

When I go to Brands on the 18th I'll be able to speak to him (if he's competing), Chris (if he has his bike back together) and others and by then I should have the full picture.
