Speed Triple 955i (99-01)

17 Oct 2007 10:55
Hi All just bought a 99 speed triple last night. 9,000 miles on the clock with all old mots but no service history (my dog ate it)

Just booked it in for 12k service - full fluid etc and the cost is £350 which seems v.reasonable looking at the prices on here.

They also offered me a loaner for the day - any model sir. So I took the new triple.

What a refreshing change from yamaha dealers! 10/10 so far!

You'll soon be able to buy a Subaru diesel as they're bringing flat four diesel turbos out next year initially in the Legacy then in the Impreza

Back to Bulldog Triumph

I went in there just prior to the official Street Triple launch and they seemed like a friendly bunch

How bizzare ................ I was in there only yesterday afternoon and as I said back in October they seem like a friendly bunch.

Presumabely Jay you are looking at them from a 'let's do a deal perspective'???

Nothing I encountered yesterday has changed my mind about them only that the p/ex value they placed on my Golf against a new 08 SP3 was more than £1200 less than the value placed on it by Performance Triumph Swindon. Maybe it's because Blade Group own a couple of car dealerships aswell as the two Triumph dealerships that they were able to come up with the best p/ex value ???

Also Performance Triumph have the 08 SP3 in all three colours PDI'd and ready to go from stock whereas Bulldog only had one in black. In fairness to Bulldog they did offer to get me an SP3 in white within 10 days or they offered to swap the the paintwork on their demo for white paintwork they had in stock. A kind offer and a sign of a dealer who is trying to win my business but if you're a fussy fucker and you want new then it's a non starter

My B.I.L. has used Bulldog to sort out a running problem on his T509 and rates them

Bulldog offered me £2800 px against their last 07 1050S3 at the end of January, which I thought was a fair price. Parker's guide said £2300...

So far a good experence Yes been there myself. It has a friendly staff, not an overly large shop, but has all I need there to do business, and yes I bought a bike from there, and it was a very professional hand over which made the experience special.
So so far a good experience

Coming from VFR ownership and Reading Honda, I must say that Bulldog are a breath of fresh air.

The guys are really easy to talk to - and I just pop in for a coffee and to read the bike mags...

Chris, their mech is ex-Lilley and highly recommended. Always happy to discuss a problem or offer advice whether it turns into business or not.

They did my 24k throttle balance and valves for £175. Good deal.

If Steve (Manager) is reading this - that's a free McQueen t-shirt then!
