Thanks for that Beef I'm only a short ass and 12 stone.
So should be ok.

I've had the old girl stripped down and done a 12000 full service, had all the forks and back end to bits, ever since I've had the bike I have wondered if it was to good to be true 10 years old with only 3000 miles when I got it, but most of it had never been apart and was like brand new a minter.

Going to start with the back end got all the bits from Mecatwin.

Perhaps you could teach me how to do the major servicing-I don't like doing things without being shown!!!

That's alright Blue I guessed you were working or fishing got my bits fitted and posted some pics

Beef

I learnt many years ago I had a mini so had lots of practice at taking things to bits and putting it back together.
We used to run 3 JCB's and weekends from the age of 12 was spent in muddy fields with my dad mending the bloody things.

First get the Triumph work shop manuel not a Haynes they a useless in comparison.

Then start by doing small things like changing oil filter plugs and slowly build up to bigger things as your confidence grows.

Always take it to bits and lay it out as it comes apart and reassemble it in reverse order.

I can do oil, filter and changed the springs and seals in the forks and rear spring-am fairly mechanically minded as I have taken a few tanks apart and put them back together!! It's things like shims that I would really like to be shown before I try if you know what I mean?!!!
