I am thinking about changing out the exhaust on my America and I am trying to decide between the Staintune and D&D product. Does anyone have input on these, power, sound, etc... Not sure how they compare.

I personally think the BUB mufflers are the best way to go. Good power and nice throaty sound.

Mine are Triumph short pipes and marked for offroad use,...against the standard they are much louder and against alternatives they are pretty good. At the end of the day you dont want it too loud as 1 it attracts too much attention and 2, it becomes a pain in the arse on long journeys.

Earplugs are the answer to every loud pipe question.

what?

I SAID... IF YOUR PIPES ARE TOO LOUD YOU NEED THICKER EARPLUGS!

It's your God given task to set off as many car alarms as possible in your ride through your neighbourhood. Anything else is a blatant dereliction of duty and will result in the suspension of your credibility as a biker.

I expect to hear you from Barcelona. Only pussies fail me...

Any way i have the opportunity to change my pipes i will be going for slash triumphs but which short or long?
Is there much difference? i just want a good sound.

Cheers

I have short pipes (track use!) from Triumph that replaced other short pipes (accident) which are louder than before and I think make a nice sound. They are shown on my pics.
I must admit that when you are on a long run (Scotland last year and the Welsh raid this year) you do have to pop your ears every now and again but I would not swap them.

Scott, I have had my seat (single) recovered in leather by Stuart Ballie of Blazin-Saddles (www.blazin-saddles.net), now part of Area 51. See my photo's.
They are located in
Unit 1, South Elgin Place, Clydebank. 01419527877.
I was most impessed with the guy and his price was very good when compared to the rest and as the wife's sisters are from Cldebank and the Vale of Leven it was easy to get too.
Anyway just an idea for you.
