OK, I've killed the other thread with the route maps 25th, Ferry, stop at Troyes (new hotel booked) 26th-27th Hotel Thones 28th. Hotel near Pont St Esprit, Ardeche Gorge run 29th. Pont Du Gard, Millau Bridge, Clermont Ferrand (Hotel tba) 30th. Troyes, same hotel as before. 31st. Ferry home OK. Deposits reqd for hotels, and possibly the Ferry. Options Norfolkline. £42.00 SeaFrance. £72.00 (normally only £36.00) Eurotunnel. £68.00-£72.00 Please note the prices can and do vary from day to day. Crossing times. Seafrance and Norfolkline, 1hr 45mins. One to Calais, t'other to Dunkerque. Eurotunnel. 35mins, Folkstone to Calais. (not so far for afew) I would like to get either an 08.00 to 10.00 crossing, as the trip t'other side is 4 hours and approx 250 miles. Chuck in the stop at Gueux and you can add an hour, plus a coffee/fag/petrol break can easily turn into an hour. Then we can arrive around 6-7pm, and relax with a meal and a beer or three. As the return route is EXACTLY the same as the route out, if we leave the hotel around 10.00am, then we should be back at Calais for around 5.00pm. If we get the 18.00 ferry, then we will be back in the UK for 19.00 UK time. Plenty of time to get home. Of course, we could do Gueux on the return leg instead of the way out. Ferry is a great way to relax, coffee, food etc. Tunnel is quick, but no food. I'll put it to the vote, and either I can book all the crossings, or each individual can be responsible for their own. Either way, I won't do anything until I get the deposits for the hotels.

Cheque should hit the post tonight. I'll go with the majority on the crossing. As it is nearly 200 miles from home to Dover I will probably do it the night before and stay in a hotel near Dover.

Most have said an 8am crossing, so I'll do some research and see if I can get the prices down a bit. I have a gig the night before, and we don't finish until 12:30. Tired bunny time

Woooops ! Wakey wakey Vince. What month are you planing to go ? Also, what about the spa at ... blimey, forgot the name of the town? You know the one; you get joined by large breasted 20 somethings in the hot tub.

Come on Vince, otherwise I'm going to be the only Daytona rider surrounded by Tigers! I'm not sure I could handle 20 somethings with big norks in a hot tub. Can I just have 1 or 2 of them?

No spa. No big breasted wimmin, unless you count Bosun as one. Just 250 miles a day from 25th to 31st May, 2008 And yes I have got you a room, Vince. The spa will be the next one, along with the Hartz mountains. I'm already doing preliminary planning for it.

Seafrance want £102!!!!! FFS Normally it's £40.00 I've emailed them complaining as I spend hundreds a year with them. We shall see................................. Norfolkline varies from day to day between £36 and £42. Also, as it's WHITSUN, we need to get the ferry booked sharpish so that we don't miss out. I'd rather do this later, but better safe than sorry, and it's not much. Ferry will be booked for 08.00 am. I want to get away early, brekkie and chill on the ferry. I'm trying to get a block booking, where I only pay a deposit and then pay the whole amount when people send it to me. So far Dave has sent me his total amount, thanks Dave. So I will go ahead and book him in. Bosun is on his hols, but I know he definately wants to come, so I'll book him also. The 4 guys from Tiger1050 have all paid their hotel deposits, and have been asked to either send me a cheque for the ferry, when I get a firm price, as I won't book them until I get it. I've had to wait for monies before, and I ain't doing it again as it will only be me out of pocket and jeopardise any future trips, as well as me building in extra "insurance" to cover any losses. So far I've been lucky. Return Ferry will be around 18.00 hours to give plenty of time to get home. Basically, anyone not paying by the end of NOVEMBER will be excluded, have teir rooms cancelled and will have to do their own organising, unless they want to book their own ferries and hotels (Although I've kept Vinces place open as he is always the last to confirm...................)

Just spoken to Seafrance......................... ............wait for it...........................a whole TEN PERCENT off the price quoted................ . WHoopdefuckingdoo. That's for definate then, we're either doing Norfolkline or the Chunnel. Chunnel wants at least 15 vehicles to get a discount. Norfolkline it is. 8.00am out, 16.00pm return You OK for an 8am sailing Chaps?

Here we go, all done, dooded and didded. Ferry booked as below. Price 41.00GBP, booked on 01/12/07 I guess I'll still get charged the £4.00 admin fee, so I'm sure the extra quid you sent will cover that easily. Depart: DOVER to DUNKERQUE 25/05/08 08:00 Return: DUNKERQUE to DOVER 31/05/08 16:01 All you need to check in is your passport (or other approved photographic ID ) and booking reference. Vehicle: TRIUMPH T/MC Bosun and Dave have alrady paid, so thanks for that. Roll on May 25th.

You've already toured me a few times, hun. Good (and bad) news. One of the lads from Switzerland is unable to make it, which means there is a spare room. However, another guy has probably already blagged them. There are 8 people going and there are 8 rooms booked, apart from night 4 when I could only get 5 rooms.

I'm OK with stopping off to see a French churchyard. The whole plan is for riding lots and exploring new places so this sounds like an ideal diversion with a walk around and chance to see stuff we wouldn't otherwise. The more diverse and interesting the better - as long as I can have a list of the hotel locations to stick in my satnav so that I can get lost and still make it to the right place at the end of the day!

This just goes to show that the Tiger owners here have far less to fear from a mere womanything than those with gay yellow sportsbikes.

I've booked into a generic Travel/Premier/Lodge/Inn/Express/Holiday whatsit right on the front in Dover. I just need to find the confirmation email so I know which one it is.

I was perfectly warm enough in the Stormtrooper kit the other night. Spoke to my Bro who says it was 33 C at his house!!! Weather reports from various areas are 24C or more at present, with the odd shower. I'm going for the gay look, with overjacket and trousers in the topbox, plus a sweatshirt if it's cold in't mountains. Unless it changes of course.

Fret, Can you give us a list of hotel names/addresses so that we all know end of day destinations? I'm not planning on getting lost/separated but have a bit of form in this respect. Thanks

Excellent thanks. Now I have no excuse for not turning up in the same place as everyone else at the end of the day. To be honest, the last time I got separated wasn't my fault. I was riding at the back of a group and the number plate feel off the Honda in front of me. I stopped to pick it up and it was 16 miles before anyone noticed I wasn't there. At least, that's what they told me.
