Daytona T595 (97-98)

Gave my 97 T595 a service the other day inc a valve clearance check, rode the bike for the first time today and the tick over is very high (3000 revs).

I did disconnect the Idle control valve but I never had it apart as the tick over was fine pre-service, now I've had some dealing with these poxy valves in the car world in the past (and I dare say the future too).

Oh the joys of fuel injection

Any idea's lads and lasses?......

Definitely a problem associated with your idle control valve - since you removed it & put it back, good chance you may have got the hoses on the wrong nipples
There was a post on here recently that had a good pic of that - can't seem to find it now.
One one side of the manifold there are three nipples - use the outside two (furthest from stepper) of that row. On the opposite side again use the outside one.

If you have fitted them on correct nipples, you need to check the hoses for cracks or splits or poor seal.

Cheers D'Ecosse, I think this might be the pic you were on about

?

I'll check it out today.

I know in the past I've had some cars that if disconnected you have to run the engine at a certian revs for a certain time to get the ECU to remap its self again but, I guess this is not the case with the bikes?

Sussed it I had connected the temp sender to the sender on the side of the airbox (not sure what its called).....the connectors are the same.

I did notice that the temp gauge had stopped working when I was on my run out ........Now I can go ahead with converting the Daytona into a speed triple.

Happy endings
