How long do the original issue Bridgestone tires last, on the newer Sprint St bike?

Are there better replacement tires, after the Bridgestones are worn?

[edited]:

Around 4000 miles, if you really punish them 3000 miles.

I get around 4000 miles a rear and 6000 miles on a front genral riding and touring one up and with the wife sometimes.

But I didn't like them as they rode dead no feed back and I found they would drift out in corners when pushed hard.
I've just put a pair of Michelin Pilot Road 2 on and it has transformed the bike.
Much more sure footed turns in better and keeps the line you want through corners and you get feed back from the front and rear end.
I wish I changed to them before.

Avon storms seem very good to me, better feel than the bridgestones. My bridgestone rear lasted about 4500 miles but it was very square by then and handled like a pig. The front was about half worn. I changed them as a pait to the Avons.

Thanks. Michelin and Avon tires are very popular on bikes, here also.

I have a while yet before replacement, but it doesn't hurt to research. I agree, I believe that the Bridgestones can be improved upon.

I changed from Bridgestone 020s to Avon Storms last October and I agree they are a big improvement - nary a slip or a slide after riding on them through the winter. and handling is noticeably improved
The latest issue of Bike magazine in the UK has a comparison test of all available tyres (or tires for Alan) fitted to a Sprint ST. FWIW they found the Pirellis and Dunlops to be equal best, with all the others not far behind apart from the Conti Road Attacks which were a bit off the pace.

changed to avon storms

i have just changed my tires with 4300 on the back, squared off. i also used the avon storms on my previous daytona 955 and the handling was far better (only my opinion though), but bike tires have gone up in price they say due to price of oil !!!
