Had them fir all new hoses and caliper seals to my Trophy a while ago.

Went for the MOT today, some 300 miles later and , I was shocked and appalled to be told that my bike had failed its test due to a leaking brake hose. This was traced to a fixing bolt on the t-piece being only finger tight!

Moral - you cant even trust a main dealer

Useless tossers won't be getting any more of my business once they've sorted my latest problem out

Shame really cos they're only 4 miles away

I got bad reception from them when I went to look at a 955i to buy last year, it was so poor I ended up walking out of the showroom after giving them the money for the test ride. I was almost sneered at to be honest and I am not the paranoid kind of guy either.

The best dealer I have been to is Jack Lilley and Ive tried a few.

To be honest the way they treated me turned out to be for the best anyway as I ended up buying a 595 and love it!!

They are charging £25 for it up there, I was shocked to be honest cause I had never heard of that but was there to buy a good condition bike and wanted to ride before buying.

Went to another one down the road and jumped on the bike no problem, had to leave license but no money.

I wont be going back, lets just say that..

Bloody hell ................. I don't understand this. When you sign for a courtesy bike you are agreeing to pay the excess on any damage. This is normally £1000 but I've never heard of a Triumph dealer charging for test rides before. Did they give you your £25 back ???

First I've heard of anyone charging for Test Rides too - could be worth a query with Triumph HQ customer services themselves?

No, thats what I mean, I was so appaled by their service that I just wanted to get out of there, I paid the money then they were taking forever to get the bike ready for me to ride, I was waiting for around half an hour and still nothing so picked up my license and walked out as only had that day to buy a bike, that was my aim for the day.

I should have demanded money back but everyone seemed to have dissappeared, I told the next dealer I went to and he said 'yeah we get a lot of customers in here complaining about that, no one wants to pay the money so they come here...'

Their reasoning was that you get your money back when you buy the bike...

As the bike belongs to Hughnden they can do what they like. I just feel it go's against the grain. We demo/loan out £60k Range Rovers and don't request money off the driver first

I dont see why though, it is a silly amount of money as you are trying to get rid of the bike, it doesnt cost £25 of petrol for a 10 min ride up the road, maybe £2 or £3, i dont mind putting petrol in but £25!!!

Daylight robbery, or buggery depending on how you look at it...

Thing is people are going to be put off of going there, what happens if they ride the bike but it isnt running right so decide no to buy it and want to test another of the same model, there were 3 955i's on their forcourt so that was a possibility, you could end up spending £75 just to get a biked you were comfy and happy with...

If you didn't get the ride - you didn't get the service you paid for. Contract cancelled - Get your money back.

Had loads of test rides at Hughenden, the latest being a Rocket 3 about 6 weeks ago and never handed over a penny

You must look a right dodgy geezer!

Oh aye, and the loaner excess has always been £500 for me

To be honest I look fairly young, I am 31 but look around 25 so maybe that was the reason but like I said, the other place where I eventually bought my bike from had had lots of customers all saying the same as me.

Wouldnt have been the first time I have been treated different for looking dodgy!!

More like they're just taking the piss. I had my old speed triple serviced there and the mechanic tried to tell me I needed a new rear tyre.

they had a 180 (standard fitment 190) they could put on for me for £155!!!!

I felt it was worn but still had some life in it, pointed out that it was in better condition than an example on their forecourt and told them to poke it.

Never went back again.

Good for you, I must admit I have heard other bad reports on them but also heard good reports too.

Maybe it depends on the day and the side of bed that they got out of that day...

well i got my response to my enquiry about the banjo bolt coming loose after just 250 miles.

"the bike could have been subjected to some kind of external influence outside of your or Hughenden's control such as malicious intent"

"malicious intent" is pretty fucking unlikely when the bike is locked in my garage behind 2 cars.

dont forget the 3 top rules of all dealerships worldwide -

1) It is never, no matter what the circumstances, their own fault, EVER...
2) Deny all responsibility.
3) Deny all knowledge and then fob the customer (who is always right) off with some crap that a 4 year old would see through

Of course it was malicious intent Green Man because it definately was NOT their fault...
