What you two doing creeping around in Pre-Hinckley? I didn't realise anyone did that much at all.

I thought I could come in here and try a couple of things out (working out some codes for linking if you must know) without disturbing anyone. It wasn't to do with t595 but elsewhere, but this was a good place to try it from.

Just shows you can't do anything in peace around here ....

What I was trying to do was insert a link into some text. I comment quite frequently on some industry matters and so where I might type the word 'I' or 'leasing' or similar I wanted that to link to either our website or my own blog.

Similar to what you've just done ...

"What I was trying to do was insert a link into some text."
What was the "some text" in question here? If it's microsoft based it's just a hyperlink which can be anything you want - or have I missed the point completely Duh...

It's may be on a Forum (like this one, but wouldn't be because it would be industry related) so I was looking to see if there was some coding I could use that would hide a link behind a word.

So for if for instance I was saying "the leasing industry is going through a tough time at the moment" on a Board/Forum in reply to someone's post then the word 'leasing' would contain a link to our website. I know how to do this in a Word/Excel doc etc. but not otherwise.

Or am I trying to be too clever by half?

Just googled hyperlinks in message boards and lots have the option of adding hyperlinks but none mention being able to edit text displayed for link like in excel word etc..
I guess you could then associate porno sites with innocent words in the Womens institute site....

ST - the link takes you to a page on the parent site which is where you could store data / info as long as you have that option - can you place a link in a single word that links to an external site?

I just typed bollox as a URL - the idea was to show that what Chizz wants can be done with the tag on this site - specifically the [URL} one ....

click to start a new post, and look down the page at the previous ones, my stuff then shows the tags used ....

Sort of - they tend to major in the Courier and Blue Light markets. I almost placed some business with them a couple of years ago on behalf of one of our clients before the employer decided that bikes for business use were a bad thing.

They are about the only Motorcycle Contract Hire operation around - they don't like to include tyres if they can help it because of the unpredictablilty of wear. We just offer a Finance Lease facility for the top end bikes with an invoice value of £8000+ aimed at those running their own businesses. TBH we have hardly pushed it at all although it can make a lot of sense for a Director of his own business if he doesn't want to take a Co.Car because of the Tax Liability.
