The forum that is! But, been doing some fettlin' on the venerable Bonnie last few days. It's never idled properly since the day I got it (over four years ago), and I decided that enough was enough! Pulled the carbs, changed main jets from 200 - 190's. Better running, no difference to idle (didn't really expect there to be) but it needed to be done. Next, changed pilot jets from 106 - 107's. Now idles but off the tickover screws - so not the answer either. So back go the 106s. Finally getting a bit desperate now, so pulled the carbs again, and pulled the inlet tracts as well. Aha! Gasket just fell to bits! The joys of running a 60's bike with spares from the same decade - the gaskets are just crumbling to dust. Made some new ones (Gasket paper is a necessity with old Brits) and she runs a treat - better than at any time in the last four years! Result! So I turned it off, put the cover back on and closed the bloody garage before the old cow can change her mind....

Get that bonnie out ! Had a good run yesterday ( Sunday ) on the tbird. I'm a member of the AJS & Matchless Owners Club ( Poachers Section ) and we had a ride to celebrate St George's day as a part of the FBHVC drive it day. Rained all day but there was still 14 of us, all on Classics. 4 Triumphs - a T110, my Thunderbird, a late 60's Bonnie and an early OIF Bonnie.
