Hi guys.
I have a 99 daytona and was just wondering if a later model Daytona engine will fit into my frame.

I posted a thread on here a while ago with 2nd gear problem went over everything with a fine to tooth comb and with alot of help from Kerry at Tripple Fourensics the fucking thing has gone again for the third time.

Pretty sure i seen some posts on here about engine swap overs even if i have to by a damaged bike and will do it myself and if there are any mods that need to be made.

hi, think anything will fit.....just some are straight swap, and some are a bit more involved, like need the wiring harness and ecu. steve phillips from adelaide is just one of the many clued up people on here...hang on to your hat, they'll be along in a minute. you could also try doing a search on this site...just try engine swap in the box...should bring loads up.

Your best bet is to get all the info together then ring SANDY at Triumphant. (Location Wales)

He's put most engines into most frames and will be able to tell you easily whats involved.

Its likely you will need the ECU for the later engine.

Thanks fellas will do some research and get in contact with those guys and see what the best way around this is.

Got winter setting in so will pull her to bits again and see what happens but just lost confidence in it what ever it is it is only something small.

So will look for a damaged bike and go from there i think it is my best bet.

You can swap any engine in. After 2002 MY you will need some more bits and peices but it can be done. Tank, wiring harness, headers and instruments come to mind. There are ways round having to swap them if you have the time/inclanation. Instruments for instance can be replaced with a Veypor which now comes with idiot lights as well as the main computer bit. Headers can be modified to fit (although later headers are a good idea as they give better ground clearance anyway) etc. etc.

Do a search on here and you will find plenty of info.

Hi X-Man

I got my motor sorted out i was having a lot of dramas with 2nd gear and had the motor out twice. So i ended up getting a complete 2nd hand one sent over from Sandy and so far so good. I did a bit off research and there is is a shop over here that does all that and i believe they can put a 1050 motor in. You probally heard of them but here is the link anyway. http://www.racecomp.com.au/

P.S. I cant beleive Triumph are not going to bring out a big Daytona.
