I was born and bred in Blackpool, and lived in the area for the best part of 30 years.

Packed it all in on a whim, and now spend my days doing the same old shit in the land of silicon (and I'm not referring the computer chips) and sun....

Dave.

I'd be up for that! I live near burnley, but spent quite a few years working at the pleasure Beach over there. Some great roads over that way, as there are inbetween.

Where do you suggest?? It'd be great to meet up with a few northern trumpeteers.

Are some of you northern chaps going to make trip to Scropton, so we have a bit more of a national feel, rather than the Sussex Squadren plus a couple of hangers on. Please.

Sorry Mr. B.

I have friends coming down from God's country on Saturday night then going to Croft on the Sunday.
Another time I hope.

I’m sure it won’t stop you from having a ball without us.

Dominic, Guys court sounds good to me to start with, when is best for you? I usually go to Knott End on a Wednesday eve to meet Big bro & nephew, nephew comes from Lancaster, it is usually packed there so a change would be welcome, and besides it's a nicer ride to Guys! any other Trumpeteers got any ideas, how about you John, perhaps a sunday ride out for a meet up?!

Somewhere in the lake district may be a 50/50 choice for both.
I work in Jock Land (Gods Country ) Monday to Fridays so I’m limited to Fridays and weekends.
Yep no probs sounds good to me even if I’ve got to stop over after a few sherbets all the better.

I'm loath to make arrangements as my Job takes me up and down the country at short notice so I can't take the bike to work for an early kick off on most days. However will keep an eye on this thread and try to turn up if something is going on.

Baldy (do you mind being called that??),

I'll definitely give it a shot. If the weather's OK, I'll take the bike to work and come straight from there (I choose to work in Sheffield for some stupid reason!!). I'll be the one sat on a yellow T595.

Look forward to seeing ya! Anyone else planning to make it???

OK, hot news just in, well to me anyway, they are having a big crackdown on bikes this weekend with the DVLA, all around Lancashire & Yorkshire. mainly on the borders, this has been confirmed by a reliable source who tells me that whenever there is a big bike meeting on they always go out in force, so watch out if you are playing out this weekend, especialy you John if you are going to Croft.

Hey Baldy! This seems to be quickly becoming a well viewed thread. Does this mean there may be a few more trumpets heading for a northern meet??

I've a strange week coming but I'll let you know if I can come out for a blast.

I was going to float the idea of a different venue if other T595'rs would be able to make it. Any suggestions???

[edited]: Wednesday is Lokking Good!!

I think this Wednesday sounds like a fine idea!! As well as being off work, the BBC weather site shows big, yellow suns all week!! (Which makes me happy - like my big, yellow Daytona!!!)

I think Martin's up for a ride out too, so is there anyone else we can tempt out for a Sunny Wednesday evening at Guy's Court???

Are you planning to go to the Rossy Bike Show Baldy?? Is there likely to be a big Trumpet presence there??

This Wednesday

I'll mostly be meeting you guys at Guys...(geddit....jeez)...for a drink. Quite a few good places to do the ride-ins to the Rossendale Bike show. I feel sorry for all them Southerners that ain't gonna make it. Biggest single day, open-air show in Europe now...or so they say.

Rivington Barn is popular cos it's a well known meet on a Sunday anyway...but we can discuss on Wednesday night. (Assuming Dom's dyslexia clears up and he can find his way there of course!!)

Hi Guys

thanks for the invite, but unfortunately I am without wheels at the moment. This is due to little girls who run out of side streets straight infront of you....

Will keep my eye on this Thread, also the TT is no longer living so the wheels at the moment(when I get them back) are a Triumph(of course) Bonneville America.......

I went to millfield for all my sins or should I say Belverdere? I am rocking on 44 and spent quite a few years as a DJ.. I think you were tinkering around with cars

Custard,

Martin and I will probably come down the M65 on the way over to Guy's. We could probably meet at one of the junctions. I guess we'd probably come over Grane Road to the motorway. That's the one that's past the hospital on the way out of Blackburn town centre.

I'll e-mail you my mobile number, and if the weather's looking ok we can talk during the day on Weds. I would guess we'd probably look to get to Guy's for about 7:15 to 7:30. How does this sound??

Hey Baldy!

How're you doing?? We were talking in the pub last night about doing the ride in to Rossy from Rivington Barn. This might seem a little odd as we'll ride out of the valley to Bolton. Then we'll ......ride back into the valley!!!

Might sound odd, but we figured it might be fun riding in. What do you think?? If all goes well we can sort it on Wednesday!

BTW thanks for sending my number. Custard, give me a call and we'll arrange a meet.

passing through this way

Blackpool = West Coast

Newcastle = East Coast

M6 ?

Perhaps you were thinking of Newcastle-under-Lyme

Keep of that tonic wine Baldy, you know it makes sense.

Rivi Barn meet

Chaps...disturbing news. The ride in for Rossendale show is setting off at 9am!!!

This would mean meeting at the suggested place at 8.15 to 8.20 in order to get to Rivi and meet everyone else at 8.45. The ride-in is also expected to take 2 hours which is a damn long time to do the 35 mile expected route!!

So....my suggestion is that we meet at the appointed time...about 8.45...get to Rivi and have a coffe, then make our own way across or meet up with the ride-in closer to Rossendale.

Any comments??

sounds good to me Martin, I don't fancy 2 hours to cover 35 miles, your idea seems much more civilised
If anyone else is interested we have arranged to meet at 8.45 on sunday, junction 3 M65,

Aaah, so you are awake then, you thought I was a plumber wrong, I know that fence & bench need a coat but I spray it, don't use a brush, mainly it's cars but I do paint bikes too, I paint a lot of race bikes for a local lad that builds them for mainly club racing, you know CBR's & ZX10's a change from the usual, also done some classics Nortons etc, happy now?

Well!!!! Hope you've got a good reason for Wednesday Night! No gaggle, pride or herd of trumpeteers, just Mr & Mrs Lonely Git sat on a bench outside all on our own and me topless as well . Call yourself bikers, you lightweights , we only got a little bit wet on the way home and no full beam to light the way. Both lights on but might as well have been off. Upgrade of candles may be a good idea. Do you recommend scented ones Rastas? At the next meet I want to see letters from your mothers with a good explanation for your absence on Wednesday!

Sorry about Wednesday - I've heard that you can dissolve if the rain is too hard!!!

I'd go for Church Candles I think. Not too bright, but, lord, they last a long time!!

My tyres are partly to blame for the decision! One being in a condition well described by your handle!!

Don't know if you remember our conversation about these, but the sizes are:-

Front 120 70 ZR 17
Rear 190 50 ZR 17

I think I want the Bridgestaone Battlax BT 010's if you could get me a price next time you're talking with your mate??

Cheers, D

Candles....

You need to be careful man. Wax is a coont to get of de fairin'. Still...always got a light for a bifter!

Personally, I heard about these new fangled blue bulb things. Saved some cash and painted mine blue but I can't see feck-all now.

Sunday afternoon is an idea but I do believe Dom would not be able to make it, certainly not as often. I'm not too concerned if its dark but wet is a problem. Rain dissolves the stubborn stains that holds the bike, and indeed my jeans, together.

I've been told though it's not very pleasent sat in a pub cuddled round an open fire with a bunch of wet smelling bikers......

Sorry domdom

24th would be good, as I’m of to Shagaloof on the 30th.

Scotch Corner gives you the A66 all to yourself, could meet half way (Bowes) or some other watering hole along route.

Unfortunately me mate failed his test again on Friday re-sits on the 29th (3rd time lucky) so I may bring a pillion along to show him how it was done in my day and he can always buy me beers.
