I have not yet received a recall notice & have had no problems in 15000 miles.
However I would like to know why the recall is being made.
Having just refitted the rear wheel after installing new pads & tyre, the following occurred to me -
The wheel nut is very tight (146Nm torque) & requires a breaker bar or power tool to remove it. If the rear brake is locked on to stop the wheel from turning & the breaker bar is stamped on to release a stubborn nut, the dynamic (shock) load transferred to the restraint pin could well be enough to crack or even shear the pin completely.
My advice would be to not use undue force & avoid the use of scaffolding poles & power tools when removing the nut.
The same applies to the opposite nut which has to be removed to grease the wheel bearings at the 12000 miles service.
