I've a small problem which started about a week ago.

Once the bike is warm it ticks over sweet. But blip the throttle and the revs rise and fall (as expected) but fall below the 1200RPM before recovering back to 1200.

When I put it back together 4 weeks ago it didn't do this straight away.

No MIL, Pickup is nice and crisp.

I suspect the IACV. But it is due a new air filter and I replaced the throttle cables during the winter.

Before I dent the tank removing it whats the collective thinking????

Update:

It seemed OK today. I'm confused now.......

Maybe your email did the trick Tonto

Maybe its something during the warmup time..

I'll keep an eye on it and let you know

As I said in email Riggsy it worked for me.It was just a little trick local Triumph tech told me about but I didn't want to post it as may have been dispelled by the purists among us

No it was when I first got my S3 last year. The rev's were dipping a little and it was suggested that the CO's were running a bit out so I was told to try a little trick to cure it so I did.....

..and it did.

Start bike and then just leave running for 12 mins (Don't touch the throttle). After 12 min ECU should have re-set CO settings automatically .

doesnt work if you just ride the bike -- even for an hour

so does the ECU need a tickover rpm and neutral or summat ?

I was told just to leave it running un-interupted and let it go through it's cycle on it's own for 12 mins.As I say it seemed to work for me as it's been 8 months now since I did it and I ride the bike every day.

It won't work riding as the revs are going up and down all the time.It just needs to idle so the ECU can find it's base setting again,or something like that.

I'm not techy minded but when I nip in next time I will ask and find out more.
