O.K. guys. What do I do to my RS forks? Gold valve the originals, fit Daytona forks, or up-side downers? I'd prefer not to spend a lot of cash, but I'd like the front end to work a bit better than it is. There's only pre-load adjustment as standard & they're sort of O.K. until I get a rush of blood in the twisties. I'm getting the rear shock re-valved & tweaked as well.

Lowest cost fork mod is to use thicker oil and more of it. Thicker oil increases the damping and less air increases the (spring) rate. I know its not exactly bling ...

If you are going to change the oil, you might as well replace the springs with a stiffer set (as long as you have the caps off anyway) That with the heavier oil will transform the handling. try hyperpro or ohlins fork springs

I'm having Hyperpro progressive springs fitted to the front of my 2000 RS this week. Just under £200 for the springs and fitting at PDQ in Taplow nr. Maidenhead. To go the extra bit to get fully adjustable Race Tech kit would double that so I went for the cheaper option which, I'm told by others, it will make a considerable improvement. I'll let you know what I think once I've picked it up.
