I need a new of brake lines for my '96 Trophy Does anyone have an recommendments ? I'm minded to got with HEL - does anyone know if they come as a complete "ready to fit" kit? Their catelogue suggests different kits are available for most bikes - original fitment - over the front mudguard I'd appreciate any comments Thanks

The HEL kits come as direct replacement for the original or a dual line setup. The kit comes with all the banjo bolts and washers required to fit them. I'd be surprised if the Venhil stuff is any different

thanks Blizzard Its the cost of the caliper seal kit (£40 + vat each side) which is a bit steep I might try just the Hel kit first and see if that improves before forking out £100 on new seals.

Like Suppards - I always fit Goodridge to my Cars & Bikes! I watched/helped my local Mechanic fit a HEL kit to a Bonneville America!!! What a mess, all the angles on the fittings were wrong, the lengths were "Just about" - not for me! An easy job took ages - luckily the Owner (A mate) wasn't charged for all the time! I'll stick to what I know - Goodridge!

I bough HEL lines some time last year, no problem. When I ordered them the guy they asked me to measure the old ones as there were 2 lengths for the T595 depending how you wanted to route it. Very helpful, and stainless banjos. They also do banjo bolts with bleed nipples, handy for removing air in the m/cylinder. Photo Album Image Photo Album Image

null: What a mess, all the angles on the fittings were wrong | You mean the wrong type of banjos (e.g. straight when it should be 45 degree), or the angle of banjo in relation to hose? If the latter, HELs swaged hoses are designed so you can just pivot the banjo to whatever angle you want.

Do you mean they'd put the wrong type of banjo on the line, or that it was at the wrong angle to bolt to caliper without twisting the line? If the latter, just grip the swaged fitting in some pliers (with a rag to stop scratching, obviously) and turn the banjo to desired angle.

We did - I was helping a Mechanic, but we had a "Clearance" problem due to the incorrect angled fitting!! That's why I prefer the "Olive" fit Goodridge lines! + everything I've fitted them on was correct...........except for the front brake on my Guzzi - it had a Banjo bolt fitting, whereas the rear brake - front (Other side) was a complete fitting with no Banjo??? Easily rectified at the 1984 TT, I went to their stall & complained - they gave me the correct matching fitting!!!

Tis why we have chosen Venhill (and BSB tams rarley fit crap on their bikes) we will get the kit to make them as well as have a supply of ready made kits; should see us being able to cope with almost any eventiality....

I had Venhill on my TDR (dealer made them up on site) - decent stuff. I'll be sticking with HEL until I have reason not to though, no probs so far.

You can do a stoppie on pretty much anything if you know how (and have more nerve than me). I've only ever done baby ones on big bikes, but used to do some beauties on my TDR.
