I'd have thought that closing was a prerequeset for a piece of hard luggage but maybe not so in Hinckley

The problem is that they don't close properly when full

Luggage
I sent a letter to Triumph customer services last year, had reply to say the hard luggage system will be redesign and available early 2006, also had a call from Woods dealership N Wales confirming same, can't ask for anymore, just hope they get it right this time.

It was listed in the beginning of torque last week as well, they should be arriving soon, so nag your dealers.

Got them last week. The new panniers seem much sturdier than the old ones and this was evidenced by the fact that they didn't leak in my ride back from Boyers in the torrential rain (the old ones would have left my stuff swimming). Roy at Boyers waxed lyrical about the Triumph rep who stood on the boxes when they were first released to demonstrate the increased robustness. The new panniers keep the old colour panels and locks but otherwise are new. They feel noticeably heavier when carried off the bike but no discernable difference when mounted. Having used the a few times now, I am happy that they shut better (they also have an idiot guide on the box reminding you which way to turn the key....invaluable!), hold almost as much stuff and most importantly have so far been waterproof

My new bags have been sitting at the dealer for a month. They don't know how to remove the locks form the old bags. Any suggestions? Thanks Cagepasser

I would go to another dealer, one that can read preferably. A mate of mine had his changed last weekend, dealer produced the buliten sent through from the factory which had the instructions and the time it takes to change the bits over. Took about half an hour to do, a month is madness.

Thanks Erwin, a few hours after I posted this I received a call. They figured it out. I was told that there weren't instruction for removing the locks in the service bulletin.

Definately had instructions, I saw some of it at the dealers. Saying that the dealer cant really admit that it took them a month to sort them out
