Most of us missed last year so this year be there or be square ! Mrs Mal,Mal jr and me are booked in to the Grand for the 19th & 20th of Sept... Always fancied stopping there coz it looks dead good. It is,however, very cheap to stop there so I expect that 5 star service is not to be expected. A double/twin is £120 or £150 DBB for two nights ! So come on ! Get booked in before it gets booked solid ! You know it makes sense ....

So nobody's interested in this ('cept ST) ? Gosh .. what a bunch of unadventurous coves you are .... Scarborough's always a laff and the racing is (IMO) second only to the Island ....

I have 2 possible options. Not sure how it is going to play out at this moment in time: - 1. Be unemployed and go to Scarborough, even though I can't really afford to. Camping in the top field would be the order of the day. 2. Get lucky and be offered a job in the Dominican Republic. I'm just waiting for a phone call from them regarding the interview. If successful they want me there by August 1st ........ Which would you go for dear readers ..??

Geordie, I had an e-mail from them yesterday asking if I had anything special on during the next 3 weeks that I had to be home for. Apparently the paperwork for a flight over there for the interview is in the works and I should be going over there next week sometime. If I'm successful and get the job then there would be a further "orientation visit" for me and the girlfriend to sort out somewhere to live before actually going there "permanently" so to speak. I've also got to try to squeeze in 10 days or so in Colombia to see the GF after going to the Dominican. If not I'll get hung, drawn, and quartered, literally ........ I told them that I MUST be back at the latest by the 3rd of July because we leave on the ferry for Dublin and the Skerries road race meeting on Thursday 4th of July. Pa, thanks for sticking the T595 card under the seat of my Manx-registered green Speed Triple at the top end of pit lane after the Senior Race on Friday ......... We must have just missed each other.

Play with Tonka Toys in the open-pit mining industry mate ........ the Dominican Republic is a US$3 billion gold mining project. Still waiting on an e-mail from them about the interview.

We were watching the prize presentations so we must have almost passed one another. After that we got roped into taking down banners at the Grandstand and then putting them up again at Billown for the Saturday races, so it was another late night ......... but not in the pub. Our house is always "open house" at the TT. All you (or any T595ers) have to do is pop round. Tea/coffee, a garage and tools are always available. I suppose I should be making that offer to Mal really .........

anybody else using the other hotels?? I can only go Saturday and stay over Saturday night, The Grand requires a booking of at least 2 nights. Just wondered if any of you are staying in any of the other hotels or B+B's. I can get a room booked then before the missus changes her mind about letting me go

Well, what a super weekend. Spent the Saturday doing sea-side stuff in the glorious sunshine and the Sunday watching the racing. The Grand was grand and the racing very racey. And Mega Martin won the Gold Cup for the sixth time on the trot ! Quite remarkable .. And apparently he's on the new R1 next year in Rob Mac's team so the TT should be interesting ...
