Fooking minging that's what it is. Although side on in this week's comic it doesn't look too bad, for a Blue Oyster Club bike that is.

Thanks Rob, looks OK for what it is I suppose. Should be incredibly low maintenance with the belt drive and very low revving engine.

That's supposed to be "virtually production-ready".

Can't say it does anything for me.
Looks like a myriad other cruisers and doesn't have any outstanding feature to identify it as a Triumph.

Same here, cruisers don't generally do it for me and no doubt this one will be another success it is really just another cruiser.

I won't be buying one but it doesn't matter cos it's aimed at the old US of A.
I just don't see the point of it.

T-Bird is STILL the best retro-styled bike they ever made.
Triumph take note.

You don't have to see the point, it isn't aimed at you. The point is that the cruiser market is enormous and even if it shrinks it will still be enormous.

The above shot.... ahh, even more Japanese than the most bland Jap-Hardley wannabe.

I have faith that the actual bike will be a darn sight better looking, I suppose thats just a mule for the engine/transmission tests?

Spon Triumph need to realise they will never be more than a bit player in the USA.
There is nothing any manufacturer can to to get their bums off Hardleys.
I've been there and know what they are like.
I'm not knocking Triumph just stating facts and I think the Bonnie/Rocket range has the retro/cruiser range covered for Triumph.

Couldn't agree more Fret.

I can see why they are doing it.
The Rocket is too big
The Bonneville is too small.

It should sell shedloads in the States, comparitively speaking.

But, it's gayer than me.

PS: The best looking US styled bike from non-Hardley manufactures was the Triumph Hurricane not the T´bird.

For a production model, the Hurricane was visually unique.

Barney, there is no question of Triumph ever threatening Harley overall as their production numbers are too small, they only need a small % of sales to be successful.
