Haven't had much time to play since buying my '01 'tona in November. Everytime I went out it seemed wet and cold. It ran great when first started up but once it was 'warm' it ran like a bag of spanners up to about 3.5k. Throttle response was also poor and made my attempts at slick downshifts a bit laughable. It was spoiling the fun and I was just about to lash out on a TuneBoy kit to get it sorted. Last night and tonight though it seems to smooth out again after it's warmed a little more and now pulls like a train from 2.5k, with plenty of response as I blip the throttle. Yes, I know I'm not supposed to need to go that slow, but being a bit of an old fart, I expected a bike with 3 x 300cc pots to pull at least as well as a bike with just one of those. I'm still going to get the TuneBoy but I'm guessing that a bike with only 7.5k miles since 2001 has probably got a bit of muck build up in the injectors etc. Seems to be clearing after 4th or 5th tankful of unleaded though. I've read lots of opinions here from 'they're all like that' to get a 'massive midrange' tune loaded and it's fix everything. If the bike hadn't fixed itself, I was going to richen up the A/F ratios at low revs but any other thoughts would be welcome. Not sure what tune is in the box at the moment but going to find out soon. The pipe is standard but looks like it has escaped the bruises that afflict other parts of the bike so may have been kept under the bed for the last few years.
