Reaper: Will not be passed | First of all, thanks for that, otherwise we wouldn't be talking. They aren't in Aus and I am not certain if they make on for your bike but my buddy has Scotts dampers on his Ducatis and they appear to be very top notch units. http://www.scottsperformance.com They don't make one for my lowly Sprint, but I have been told that if you need a damper for an RS "somethings knackered"

I would look for a cause of the problem instead of masking it with a damper

don't believe what a lot of people say about pre-load on these things. Back it off. That gets the front end planted. Put a cable-tie around you fork leg and so long as you have 10mm of travel to spare that is the right setting for front pre-load.

Yeah that's a pretty good way to set front preload. Set the back up by the normal sag method though. What's the geometry like on the 955i? Relaxed enough to not need a damper?

Well of some minor interest, my issue is not at high speed, a couple of times jogging along at 60 to 80 kmh i have taken hands off the bars to make luggage/bag adjustment only to look back and see the bars shak,in like a strippers titties, ,, this is what started me on this quest for a damper.. So i may go and see Steve from Racecomp next Monday and get his wise words, as well as some lower frame protectors/dyno run ect,,,ya listening Steve???

http://www.jacklilley.com.....amp;part_id=371 Here's a damper, don't have one on my bike, would like to get one though, headshake doesn't always mean there's a problem, alotta times it means you're just going "Vay doo Fast, ya?" When I push my 996 past my limits, it likes to shake a little, the damper has kept it upright a number of times.

seem like you'd just be covering up a problem. It shouldn't be doing that in a straight line. What's your front tyre? and what it like? Steer head bearings? Suspension bushes? Front axle? Could be dangerous.

Ibast, Im running Diablos (new) all round, i like about 34psi in the front, and im probably suspecting steering head bearings after another ride on the weekend where i had an emergency stop on the front anchors where i felt and heard some play in the head, didnt feel good at all...
