Boycie: Wake up mate!!! We’ve got all the Pommie beers here if we want them. I had a few bottles of Old Peculiar and Speckled Hen last week. We have a few guest beers regularly on tap at the local; Theakstons, Caffreys and Guinness are regulars. We had an old boy over from Ireland at Christmas and says the Guinness is better here than at home! To be honest with you, I’m more of a wine drinker these days. Living two minutes from McClaren Vale wine region, why wouldn’t you be? Mal: Shit is it that cold…

Why do colonials always assume that British beer is drunk warm ? It isn't It's drunk ar cellar temperture .. which is cool but not cold. Bitter (which is what real Englishmen drink) has subtle flavours which would be hidden by making the drink too cold. That is the reason why American and Australian beer is so cold,to disguise the lack of taste. As everone knows .. cold drinks do not cool you down .. hot drinks do.

Isn't NZ a part of Oz? There's so many of the shaggers here, you'd think they're from another state.

Only the famous bits of NZ are part of Oz, you know like Russell Crowe and Keith Urban, the Finn Brothers and half of the Oz bands Jay, I've never seen so many cliches in one post before

Having just read this entire thread, I have to say I want those 10 minutes back. Mainstream Australian beer is crap. We do drink it too cold. NZ is part of Australia, and despite this, all Pommies wish they were here.

I like Hampshire, Devon and Dorset particularly. I'm not much of a fisherman but everytime I go fishing with my father in law when he is here I catch twice as many fish as he does and he's been fishing for about 200 years.

Never been fishing with my Father... Poor old lad doesn't see the point, but it takes up a fair bit of my free time as I'm an Angling Coach/Instructor for the National Federation of Anglers the sports governing body in this country.... it's not just a hobby for me....!
