Can't be done I'm afraid, we have some very strict rules to protect our motorcycle industry (?), didn't know we even had one.
He can't import the bike unless he personally has owned AND USED the bike overseas for a period of 12 months. He must be able to prove that.

Only Country that I've found "Reasonable" about importing vehicles is ...............................the UK???

Anything seems to go? - once it has passed the relevent tests!

Canada? - banned, unless it is over 25? years of age!

Yes that's true, I can't understand why it is so hard here. You can basically import anything if it is older than 15 years but otherwise the restrictions I mentioned apply.

Yes that works for old bikes as you don't need any paperwork to get them registered. There was no need to do it with an old bike.

hey Spondon... what about the millions of CBR250RRs roaming our streets. I dont think they were sold locally. Just curious how do they get them in?

lue, they would be imported by a grey importer. If you have a business and get permission to import and get the bikes up to ADR level that is different but it isn't possible to import one personally unless it complies with the conditions I mentioned earlier.

probably did. And before the Hyosung 250s came along the CBR250RR were still fetching around 6000$ for a 10yr old model.

Well, the rascal has bought himself a GSXR 750 so he doesn't need mine anymore. I wish him good luck with it.
