still think Bridgestone's are the best rubber . . .

maybe you'd get more luck with Durex . . .

The truth is the Bridgestones are much better than the Mitchelins of last year, but it does seem that Mitchelin got thier r and d heads together and made a better advance than anyone foresaw.

Id like to know what Rossi thinks though, but there is still plenty of racing left to go and things could change yet.
I dont think its going to be Rossis year this year though.

Its interesting that last year when the 800s were new, they were saying that they rode more like the 250s with faster corner speeds and the riders were going to have to learn a new style of riding.

And now the boys newly graduated from the 250 class in the last few years are now dominating the 800s

Michelin have not sat on their arses since last year and Rossi dropping them hurt more than Bridgestone winning the championship. Also seems Stoner is fighting his front end at the moment which could be tyre related although the team havn't said so yet.

Ducati have balance problems since they were forced to stop using their extra petrol tank

Yes I don't think he will be too upset by his choice. He is being beaten by Lorenzo but I reckon he could do the business using Chen Shins.

Bridgestone don't have a front qualifier yet so what Rossi has been doing to qualify has been on a race tyre front; respect is due. In the race it was said to be a right rear problem for Rossi so it looks like the pneumatic valve engine is tearing it up...but they are getting there.

And bear in mind that the last couple of rounds (Jerez/Estoril) have historically never been "Bridgestone tracks". AFAIK a Bridgestone-shod bike has never won MotoGP at Estoril. Now Shanghai where they go next, that's a totally different story .........

I like the story about Rossi and the selection of Bridgestones, because at the start of the season there was no Bridgestone race rubber specifically developed for the M1 ..........

VR: Which tyre compound should I use ...?
Bridgestone tyre tech: This one won races last year (with Stoner)
VR: I'll use that one then. Classic ............!!

I don't know about our other readers but I tihnk he's got the hang of the Bridgestones already. Many were saying it would take at least half a season.

Given that he was the only Bridgestone runner ahead of any Michelin bike in qualifying I think we can safely say yes.

Michelin gave him 7 world titles, and at the first occasion, he fled the sinking boat.
now he can keep his Jap rubber and shove it up his arse...

I'm with you Erik.

He was too quick to spit his dummy and it's also being compounded by a stream of highly talented and motivated younger riders coming through who are showing him the way home at the moment.

I dont think Rossi can blame tires anymore. I have marvelled at Rossi since i first saw that gangly youngster riding round everyone else in the 125 class. His place in GP history is secure.

He is also very wealthy and has a very comfortable retirement in front of him. I think you have to be prepared to go quite a way past safe to win GP's and championships??? At the height of his domination Rossi's speciality was to beat the rest on shagged tyres.

The new kids on the block want it more? and no one appears to have superior equipment this year?

My money is on that Lorenzo fella who thinks and talks like Cassius Clay? "I will whup them all before lap 4"

"Lorenzo's land" indeed!!!! you gotto admit the smart arse is damn good?

I'm not a fan of Lorenzo, but at the moment he's putting his money where his mouth is and you can't knock him for that
