Gents A certain gentleman who has a certain penchant for polymeric birds of the aquatic persuasion advised me in passing, as you do, that a motorcycle run was being organised to Petworth shortly. Given that he was rapping in Journalistic speak he didn't have the facts just gobbledygook about bottoms, boards and wax. Oh and glass photographic plates showing rather large Brazilian fillies fiddling with their bits. Honestly, I hadn't foggiest clue what he was on about. Hence my request for clarification within this esteemed site on whether some kind chap could fill me in... er, so to speak. Albert

This Sunday 3rd February Meet at Stonemasons Arms, Petworth 1230 onwards all welcome PS committee meeting to consider motion suggested at Goodworth = alternating 1st wednesday evening meets with third sunday lunch time meets, one per month or both each month? No voting as the southern softies self appointed committee is not democratic (unlike our scropton brethren)

Albert - I can almost certainly guarantee that the certain gentleman who has a certain penchant for polymeric birds of the aquatic persuasion to which you pertain above was slightly the worse for wear courtesy of a bottle of 15 year-old Glenlivet oakwood, and is thus not to be heeded on such matters. But if all is well with the heavens above and you fancy going the long way round on the third, he should have sobered up by then. Perhaps we could also persuade the lunatic Captain Trumpy to add another few miles to his equally brashly liveried machine as part of his battery warming regime...

What a super idea. We could all ride to the pub, meet up and have a good chat about motorcycles and sundry ephemera. However, there is to my mind just the tiniest of nano flaws in this otherwise well though out plan of social intercourse. The matter to which I refer is, needless to say, the barely relevant fact that the weather forecast suggests that snow, sleet, rain, very strong winds and general unpleasantness will prevail throughout the day. Whilst accepting that all invitees are hardened badass biker chaps, and probably would'nt even notice any weather at all, I feel I am compelled to politely question the wisdom of a ride out where its slippery, cold and horrid! But then I am a mere (semi) mortal. Having said that, if its nice I'll be there.

You would appear to have summed my thoughts exactly Capt. The Bike is being taxed on the 1st. I have every intention to give the girl a wash down and polish all the shiney bits in preparation for said meet. So I might see you there.

Greetings and felicitations your royal Doobness. Aye lad, we just might get lucky. Of course, if its dry then my bike will be far shinier than yours as some recently developed polishing regimes are proving tough to beat! Still never mind, G is bound to have a few grubby patches we can laugh about.

Some cracking roads on that route, Jazzman Some of my favourite corners, in fact. If you REALLY want to make the most of the best though, after Alton/Selbourne/Petersfield, instead of taking the most boring section of the 272 to Midhurst, hang a right down to South Harting, hang another right at the junction in South Harting Village, then half a mile on a sharp left onto the epiphanal B2141, hang a right at the end of that up to Lavant, then a left down Sheepwater Lane then a right into Fordwater Road, which bleeds into New Road - a completely noo-noo flat-out straight running past the back of the Goodwood race circuit, straight across at the little roundabout, then hang a left at the junction to take you onto the A285 Petworth road, which is another blinder if you're not in the mood to take any prisoners... Biking bliss.... And not a speed camera in sight...

I've had this lesion / ulcer thing under front incisor where the gum joins the lip ..... since mid Oct, getting more sore and wont heal (GP said it'll 'go away' in Oct - the usual twat) .... finally went to the dentist as the quack is such a tosser (have I said that already ... ) and in mid Dec he gave penicillan - didnt work, so he referred me to a 'maxillo-facial / oral' specialist who I finally saw in early Jan - got a letter saying in the light of being an ex-smoker and the fact thet the lesion had 'rolled borders' they wanted toi do a biopsy ... That was last Weds and it FUCKIN HURT -- they use a punch to take a sample of the lesion, and then a scalpel for normal nearby tissue - plus a stitch or two ... Not sure if its the wound or the fukin lesion that hurts most ! It is healing, but still a bit swollen ... here endeth the whinge .....

Ouch - that sounds bloody painful, ST. Heal well soon and prosper - about time you had a break from all these afflictions, I reckon. As for the meet, I managed to sneak in by wearing my old Triumph jacket, but disguising the Ape was a little trickier. 'Twas a splendid turnout for a brisk early February day, and a great ride. The Ape, of course, behaved impeccably, and despite a few cheap jibes about its nicely tanned frame, seemed to blend in well with the motley assortment of fine machinery in the pub car park. The chief protagonist in the 'let's trash G's frame' game, J-Man, was, naturally, the first one to cave in and beg me for a go. I think he quite liked it... Anyway good to see you all, and here's to the next one...

Twas good to see some familiar and not so familiar faces at the Stonemasons. A few bon mots were tossed in to conversational subjects as varied and diverse as; The space time continuum, Gravitons, Spaceships [ The Capt. wants one ], the poor range of Harley .D clones, The shape and tightness of the serving wench's arse, and the consideration that J man had taken an invitation for a free ride on G's Ape as an opportunity for a comfy ride home [ There would have been little derision from his neighbours by the time he arrived home as it would have been dark you see ] So all in all a pleasant time was had by all. I'm not sure whether t' Kommittee resolved all action points on t' agenda. No doubt Komrade Jizz will fill us in later on this.

Indeed, a most splendiferous gathering of the true believers amongst us. No doubt, all those wise souls, so enriched by the cameraderie and foaming ale experience must surely walk upon air for weeks to come. Return trip was plagued by policeman. Followed a camera van for ages, got rid of him then a minute later a fucking panda car followed me for ages! The restraint required was exhausting. At last I got shot of him and managed just a tiny little bit of a nip to clear the cobwebs out. Yay, though I have released the surly bonds of winter, and danced on laughter silvered tarmac...........

I don't recall any reference to a 'blow' or a 'Parsnip' of any kind. I have lived a very sheltered life you know and I fear I may have missed out on some sort of exciting lifestyle being unfamiliar with these esoteric terms. I await enlightenment. Of course, it might be that the close proximity of G's exhaust did my eardrums in, and as such I spent the rest of the day in a silent trance. It was a bit parky. Once home, I lit the fire at once and then fell asleep in front of it. Bliss!
