Not working - displays anything from 4 to 24 mph but the odometer appears to be working OK

Does the front wheel drive both speedo and odometer or is the odometer driven from the gearbox?

Any clues as to what may be knackererd - speedo head or drive unit?

Cheers!

have yuou had new tyres since this happened ? because the front senders can get damaged when refitting the wheel . i think the sender is about £160

No, but I have had a fork seal replaced by my dealer

BTW I was mistaken about the odometer still working, rode to work this morning (16 miles) and mileage increased by about 2

Dealer reckons the speedo drive plate (£10?) so I'm guessing they damaged it when putting the wheel back in after replacing the fork seal

Think I'll whip it out tonight and have a looksee

Right!

I'm spitting blood now!

Useless fekkers have only managed to break one of the lugs off the speedo housing AND the bloody ring magnet is in 3 pieces AND the plain aluminium spacer on the other side has clearly not been seated against the wheel bearing properly resulting in a groove being worn in it by the circlip holding the wheel bearing in place resulting in a razor sharp burr to form on the corner...

Pauses to take a deep breath

'Award winning dealer' Hughenden M40 are getting a piece of my mind tomorrow.

Left the bike with them last night so they can replace everything today (If the parts are in stock)

Thrashing the arse of their Bonny loaner in the meantime

Apparently 'the wheel spindle was overtightened' so they're gonna rebuild the front wheel with new bearings, spacers, dust seals & speedo drive.

Service mangler must have apologised 6 times during the 2 minute phone call.

Well it appears that they are at least are trying to make the situation better, from where the mechanic did not mention anything that should have been obvious from a road test!
I like others do my own servicing and for anything that would be too much for me there is a very good guy in our village called Roy ( he owns he company called REPS) and another small outfit two miles down the road who gets me my tyres.

The only Triumph mechanic I trust is Karl at Windy Corner but if we take my clutch as a situation, all the dealers want £300 to replace the entire clutch because it's slipping and they haven't even suggested that it could just be the springs..... so I'll do it myself.

To be fair, Pure Triumph said that if I needed any help over the phone to just give them a call

Whilst it's always annoying when a dealer does things wrong, at least they're rectifying it.

To be honest, I've been using them for the last 6 years - Bought 3 bikes off them, several services and loads of spares etc. and always found them polite, helpful and competent. This is the 1st time I've had any problem with them and yes, they're sorting it and saying all the right things.
