Question ? Has anyone on this forum experienced any problems with the rear wheel bearings on your Sprint ST 1050's. I have noticed a number of postings on the Triumph RAT site relating to this problem, I myself had a complete failure of the rear wheel bearings on my 2006 model whilst on a tour in France a few months back, by luck alone a fellow group members bike was playing up so we were pulling off the motorway as I heard a noise coming from the rear of my bike, placed on the center stand the wheel managed to rotate manually twice before locking up solid, thank god I was not still on the motorway, fully loaded and traveling at around 70 - 80 mph. The bike was in A1 condition and had covered only 7500 miles from new at the time of this incident, never been power washed and was serviced by Triumph dealer. Seems that the materials used in these bearings are somewhat suspect, repairs carried out by a smashing Triumph dealer in Melle, France and thankfully under warranty. Look forward to hearing if anyone else has had simular issues.

All the postings on T-Rat seem to be about 955 STs, I couldn't find any about 1050s. There were known issues (and recalls) with the 955s. I've only got 12k on mine (05 plate) but I'd be pissed if the bearing failed, 7.5k would say to me it had a faulty one from the off. Glad you're OK tho' - I remember one guy on a 955 wasn't so lucky

Heyup Sproot UOK? Heres a scenario Torque setting for rear hub 108lbft or is it ftlb which is about 147Nm ish Those who dont have a good quality BIG torque wrench (not a shitty £30 job) just jack the nut up to VERY TIGHT and maybe put a bit of grease on the thread beforehand, and that makes it very much worse. We have talked about that on here before. and Lo, buggered wheel bearings........ Its possible. Sorry I havent had a bearing out to make an opinion on what quality they use.

Hi ST Elevation, I know 2 people in Sydney with this problem, on is on an 05 1050 ST and another on an 06 1050 ST, both has less than 10,000 km's on the ODOMeter. This is concerning.
