RM 2006/003 had this this morning Replacement of anti-rotation device rear caliper carrier. The above could result in damage to the caliper and swinging arm if if the anti rotation device fails. 1 hour repair at dealer FOC

I wondered how long the ABS would take to ply up, its fairly advanced stuff, even honda got it wrong a few times.

Stooz the ABS is fine and the fault is nothing to do with the ABS its the anti rotation bracket that helps hold the rear caliper on all the new models with the revised swinging arm seem to be affected you might get a recall for your Daytona if its got the new style swinging arm.

I've had no such letter yet for my 2006 Sprint ST, do you think I should contact the dealer?

recall
i rang dealer as soon as got recall notice.they have to order parts in for each individual bike as each owner contacts them, came out next day delivery,10 minute fit.as previously stated its just a round headed allan bolt that stops the plate the rear caliper mounts to from rotating around.required removal of the wheel spindle, and new locking nut supplied with kit.nothing wrong with one removed from mine, sounds like being very cautious

How far back does this go got the 955 dayto? I ask as mine was in for its 12K on Thursday and no-one mentioned this. It's a 2003 (DSSA). I'm assuming this only affests the later SSSA models

Riggsy if you have the old style SSSA or DSSA you should be ok the recall seems to be on the later swinging arm models the ones with a slot carved into to rounded section on the near side. Check with your dealer pretty sure a 2003 DSSA will not be on the recall

Gilly: its just a round headed allen bolt that stops the plate the rear caliper mounts to from rotating around | had a look at mine when I had the wheel off doing brake pads on Saturday If the allen bolt / screw in the slot is meant to hold the caliper carrier still, it doesnt. Mine moves fore and aft a couple of mm Maybe that chattering does something to the bolt head.... still nothing in the post yet

TSS I believe the rear caliper is supposed to move a little for and aft! If you've got time call into or ring M&S service dept and ask them about your bike I did last weekend - I'm ok not part of the recall

Was at the local dealer today and found out that my 06 Sprint needs the recall completed, but I haven't received anything from Triumph yet.

I went to my Triumph dealer who said that I didn't need it done if I'd not received a letter from Triumph. Sounds like mine's not one that need doing then.

I asked about my 06 1050S3 while the bike was having it's first service last week ... I asked "can you be absolutely sure as I have heard of one failing outside the VIN range on the recall notice" They "checked" and said my bike was OK. If you are not sure CALL YOUR DEALER!

but not all those 14119 bikes are the affected models. As Triumph builds all of their models on the one line they can use successive numbers with no problems. i.e. a S£ can be followed by a Bonneville and then a Rocket, etc, etc

Nuff said. The recall letter just states those serial numbers and the header says Sprint ST ABS, Sprint ST, S3, and Daytona 955.
