Has anyone fitted one of these. Got to do the valve gaps soon, so thought I might do this at the same time? http://www.jacklilley.com.....amp;part_id=287

I may well be wrong but i was under the impression that this cam kit isn't actually a performance upgrade in the traditional sense-ie to give more more power, but an upgrade of the exhaust cam on the earlier T595 spec engine to that of the later (but still roundy early shape) 955i spec. This later cam gave a slight improvement in the mid range alleviating the flat spot the early engines suffered from at around 5-6k. If you could source a second hand cam from the slightly later engine you could save a few £££'s In fact i believe that some of the last T595's were fitted with this later cam (those made form late 98 onwards). I'm sure with a bit of research using engine numbers you could see if your engine already has the later cam or not.

Ok cheers. I've definitely got an early engine. There is a new kit going on ebay at the moment for considerably less.

I did the cam upgrade to my T595 and found that the only difference was the position of the cam, not the overall timing (lift & duration stays the same). Get a set of adjustable cam sprockets and time the cams according to Wayne's suggestions. I was able to get 116+ RWHP on my 97 T595 using Wayne's suggestions and a few other minor mods. Philip
