Following a great performance at Brands last weekend which saw our laps time drop from 1.09 last year to 1.03 this and our best ever result of 5th (and first motorbike engine outfit home!) we retired from the last race on Sunday due to oil and a noise developing. On inspection it looks like a big end has failed Still onwards and upwards. Hope to get sorted before the end of the year but time and money will dictate!

You right Pete but we suspect it is the primary side as last time It is likely that the con rod will need replacing and the crank reground if it is the same a slast time. We have had a long hard look and think about causes and have concluded that the biggest issue has been over heating causing the oil to break down. This added to the oil frothing must be the cause as we can think of nothing else. We are looking at creating vents in the fairing, fitting a larger oil cooler and modifying the oil tank too. Lots of work to do (and expense) and probably the end of the season for us.

Hi Pete, Yes Phil does do the engine. He is at a bit of a loss though Seems Triples just dont eat big ends? Hecame over on Sunday to have a look and it was with him that we came up with the over heating issue. We are now looking at taking our time to get everything sorted before going out 'in anger' again. Will keep all posted on here and our website. How is your season doing?

I haven't done very much at all so far, my shifts have just coincided with most of New Era's meetings this season. Had quite a good time out at Brands back in April, with three top ten finishes out of four starts but was still disappointed with my times, just can't seem to get under 55 seconds, no matter what I do. Anyway, got Snett coming up at the beginning of September so looking forward to that....hope it's raining, I'm MUCH better in the wet !

Sure are. Not likely to be racing though Still will have a good weekend marshaling instead Don't think I can make the 2nd to watch Peter as there is a classic bike sprint at North Weald which sholud be good.
