Just been down to Plymouth to pick up the car we bought on e-bay. Nissan Serena. But, not a UK model which are poverty spec, manual windows, no goodies at all. No this is a Jap import with air con front and air con rear (with remote control for the rear, seperate, air con) 'leccy windows front and side, remote cental locking, mirrors fold in electrically from the remote, independent rear suspension, bigger windows, tow bar, ABS CD player and only 70.000 miles, metallic silver in excellent condition, clean as a whistle inside and out. Got the reciept from the previous seller for £5995 in 2005 (when it was imported) and we paid?

Nice one PG. I`d always take a Jap Import over the equivalent UK car. Just check that it`s been undersealed properly....the Japs dont tend to salt their roads (very enlightened) so they tend not to bother going over the top on under protection.

And whatever you do, check the double-sprung flange valve. They're only fitted to Japanese vehicles and if they fail, well, you're fucked.

BM... I`ll check the one on my Pajero immediately. I presume it`s the one at the driven end of the `split crevical crungle shaft`?...

watch out for the Fallopian tube blocking and the Diddlycock valve blowing at 50,000miles, the Puceflange is suspect too

...blimey, UK spec ones struggle to hit 70mph, switch on front and rear air con when in and around town, drive flat out without risk of getting a ticket.....

The Sprockle Cluck Spinner next to the Mellodian Valve Line Input Exit will have tangled around the Transparent Component Articulus. This needs seeing to otherwise you find that the Syncro Vegitator isn't going to see you through the summer withour imploding all over the inside of the load area sending shockwaves to Suspendy Belty Unit.

But then you probably knew this already.

So that's £4.5K about to be available to spend. What shall I buy? What's that you say? Her money? Tish and bollox, 'tis all mine I tell thee......

SP, Had a look underneath it today, and while it's all fine, it certainly wouldn't hurt to have a couple of gallons of Waxoyl cast about underneath, Thanks for the heads up.

No, the front windscreen folds flat across the bonnet automatically when you slam the door.
