Is there a (TomTom) POI file for Triumph Dealers in the UK and Europe? Only thread I can find on the forum is a rather old one:

I don't think it has been done for Europe ... I did it for the UK (which may be out of date since there have been so many dealer changes recently) ...
I'd do it for Triumph if they asked 'nicely'

On behalf of Triumph  please, pretty please, can you have a crack at Europe. Or at least France and -if you explain how to do it- I'll try to contribute a little of Switzerland.

One of the difficulties is getting an accurate location from the information available.
With the UK I can use streetmap to convert the map /postcode position into Latitude/Longitude.
I don't know of tools that will allow me to do that for each of the other countries, they may be available I just don't know of them.
So for France for example, what you are left with, is typing the address into TomTom - getting the lat /long from that ... one at a time and hoping that the address is enough to give you an accurate location.... perhaps also comparing to the map given on the website. then putting those details into the POI file ...Quite time consuming. The first dealer in the French list is ...

When you have several towns with the same name as in this case it takes a bit of time to get the right place.
OK so doing the one above TomTom give a Lat /Long of
N48.13552, W 1.68737
Comparing with the website this appears quite accurate.
A list of all the dealers names & phone numbers is fairly quick to generate (so that it could be stored on TomTom) ...
The next issue is keeping all of that information up to date.

this proved very difficult to find in France .... as it is on an island on the other side of the F***ing world ... ARGGGGHHHH!

The island in question is a French territory, like Reunion in the Indian Ocean, which I notice also has a dealership.

True ... but when you do a search for dealers in France it should not come up with one in New Caledonia
It would be like including a dealer in the Falkland islands in UK dealers ... doesn't make sense...

I'm only going on the basis that in Swindon we've had three dealers in six months and as Triumph seem to drop their dealers like a whore drops her knickers it may not be too far from the truth
