I have succumbed at last to the siren call. Whilst still lashed to the mast, so to speak, I am wondering whether my HL Triumph race can will be an issue at Brands Hatch. It states in the conditions of contract that only road going exhaust systems will be permitted, or something along these lines. It would be good to know people's experiences with this issue. I don't want to break against the rocks Cheers

How's the Spandex© shopping spree going Ethel? I have never had an issue with using a THL can at Brands. Saying that they are generally getting a bit tighter on noise, but it should fall below the 105dB level. If for any reason theres a problem, could always scoot to my place and get my road can - or better as we're in different groups, could just do swappsies with my Remus High level ( which is a bit quieter than Trimphs ) " Calm down dear - it's only a `t-Day' '

Just get through the noise test however you can and swap back to what you're used to using. They are strict on the 105db, Marks trackbike was over, i think hitting 107/109 lol so he just swapped. Lots of them just bung a muffler thingy in the end, bodged to get stickered then take it out. Very few get black flagged once it's running. I think we've got a standard can kicking about... will it fit? I can get Mark to chuck it in the van if you want, you can use it for the day.

J- Zeus [ I think there's a strong Greek theme running here ] and Fruity. Many thanks both. If it's not too much trouble Fruity, that would be a marvellous insurance if you are able to carry a standard can in the van. I am also interested in this muffler ploy. Can you expand on this ? Re. the Spandex oh great one. No joy yet. I'm in the hands of French lorry drivers which, as you may agree, is not an ideal situation. Fruity though may think otherwise. I will be OK for handcuffs and lube though. G, it appears, is coming fully kitted out for our overnight stay near the track. As you can see I have a lot to learn this track day game. He's ever so keen isn't he ? Ethel Just a tad worried

DCE... Just spoken to Mark, we'll bring the standard can and we've also got a decibel killer (that's what they call them things you can stick in the end), although we've tracked the 595 with the HL can before, but that was before the noise testing. So don't panic help is on hand for you

Mmmm.... Leather...... Sorry... ( I like leather...) Meant to remind you chaps that there are just four short days to this auspiscius event. Personally I'm having trouble containing my excitement - I'm REALLY looking forward to unleashing the mighty wrath of the Ape on a circuit. Mind you, with the much more experienced J-Zeus to contend with, I've had to pull my socks up on the preparation front: 1. Race map uploaded - check 2. Carbon race cans fitted - check 3. Pro suspension setup - check 4. Ohlins adjustable damper fitted - check 5. Pair of brand spanking 2CTs fitted - check 6. 'Go-faster' off-gold frame paintjob - check 7. Overdraft limit exceeded - cheque Let's keep our fingers crossed for a dry day!

Cheers J-Zeus Would you consider allowing us lowly mortals to share space in a pit garage with you? DCE - As discussed in a previous life, I was thinking about checking in to Thistle Towers in time to freshen up, have a bite to eat, and hit the bar before retiring to explore the manifold wonders of the Corby panty press and police-issue cuffs. So, what say we aim to get there for 7-ish? Which would mean leaving Chichester around 5:30. But we can go a bit earlier if you like. I'm pretty flexible.... As you'll discover in the small hours of the 28th...

On a slightly serious note. My shoulder problem appears to be giving me continual headaches, which are only being held at bay with Nurofen and codeine. If the problem deterioates further I may, regretfully, have to bail out

Sorry to hear that Vince. I really hope you're OK for this, as it would be such a shame to miss out, but health comes first. Keep me posted. If you can handle getting up there tomorrow, but then don't feel well enough to do the trackday itself on Tues, it's still good fun just hanging around and watching/taking pix, etc. If it's any consolation I shall be drugged up to the eyeballs as well (Tramadol 50mg and Voltarol SR 75mg). If your codeine tabs don't cut it I'll do you a good price on a couple of Trammies. Hopefully it won't come to that though...

This morning my GP confirmed that my neck muscles were in spasm because of the shoulder, and it was likely that this was causing the headaches. So I'm just off for a neck and shoulder massage to see if this helps. Eth

Haven't you heard of the famous racing god ' One arm Pete ' - come on Ethel, no excuses. Seriously, hope your massage goes well ( remember, when given an option alway go for oil, talc can chaff ) I too often suffer from neck seizes, and the last bad one fucked my left arm up - but strangley I find bike riding to be good for it

Wise words indeed, most spasmtastic one. I find bike riding good for everything... Don't fret, Vince, all will be well. And if you're, err, a bit stiff in the morning, I'm sure Froots would be happy to stand in as the impromptu T595.net team masseuse... (runs for cover and hides...)

Is everyone aiming to get there for 7:30am? If so Vince and I will make the effort to stagger all the way from the Thistle and meet you at the main gate. Be good if we can grab a garage together - even if it's just to make sure we get a another pic of Justin nodding off. (Or me, come to think of it. On second thoughts.... )

I'll be in a blue Renault van, sign written (plumbing) ... probably be in the first few garages after the organisers from the cafe.... there's lots from LB going so I want to spread out and not be jammed in like they usually do. Just remembered we will have the trailer (red) on it too as we're picking someone up on the way.
