[edited]:

This isn't really a big issue, but I have a few problems.

Basically the only way I can download a map to the ECU is by using the " Recover from failed download " from the tune edit options drop down menu ???? its not supposed to work like this

Also in I've also noticed that in the "options , Properties, menu, the Cable type always defaults to No 2 not USB ?

Its the latest version BTW with USB cable, other than that eveything else appears to work fine.

Forgot to add, I managed to completely wipe out the ECU settings while I was playing around with tune edit

Not sure Tony got the High level can on its way should be here next week, will download the 9863 tune to the ECU then I'll download and install the latest Tunedite to make sure.

Just might an install error ?, to make sure I formatted the Hard drive and placed a fresh install of XP on the laptop before I install the TuneBoy software.

no, its usually a wait time error, using the applet sets it perfectly for your system.

Dont worry about it using " Type 2" over USB, it works fine, i havent investigated it yet, but i was thinking of starting looking at address of USB, confusing the TB software.

Its supposed to be Type 2. (USB type was the first USB cable release)

Is the issue because you don't get the yellow button lit up? Have you downloaded the latest revision (www.TuneBoy.co.uk/downloads/tuneedit.zip, v3.5.6) which fixes the "yellow button doesn't light up".

In the fitment for each model. Click the model name in fitment. Its going to expand to include custom tunes and the like.

Yes it should be 2,

Also try the "slow Download mode" in the options menu in TuneEdit.
