I'm thinking of dropping the standard air filter and snorkel on my Bonnie for a Unifilter and velocity stack. (Got TOR exhausts fitted). Has anyone got any experience of this mod? Is it actually worth doing?

Just love Rob's bike!

Peter Jenks (Jenks Bolts) was developing a prototype airbox eliminator kit which, IIRC, replaces the mudguard function of the stock airbox and provides a storage compartment. But there's no signs of it being in production yet

Velocity stacks rock. The intake noise, and twittering of the carbs through town - magic.

.......the rattle of the slides in twin Amal Concentrics (well, perhaps not). Magic Rob! Where did you get your bellmouths from and what did you have to do to the jetting?

[edited]:

The stock carbs have been replaced with 39mm flatslide Keihin FCR race carbs, which do rattle at tickover, further adding to the fun. The bellmouths were supplied with the carbs. They gave me another 2bhp over K&N filters. We needed to go up a jet size with the bellmouths. Main jets are now 150's. All tuning work has been carried out using a rolling road dyno at Bob Farnham Tuning. Fuel'air ratio is perfect.

PS You don't need to wait for Jenks Bolts to develop the airbox eliminator kit. You could cut out the airbox, leaving the battery box in position. That will save you ££££££'s
