Its that time again, clocks have moved to give us more daylight, weather getting dryer and warmer (optimist), so is there any interest in a Southern Softies run this Wednesday?

The events list suggests we meet in a new pub in Surrey - any suggestions - STs local?

[altho two years ago it was after the April meet that I binned my Aprilia, so excuse me if we don't go to Cobham again]

Any interest?

ah - had forgotten that twas the 'Pub with no name' (aka the White Horse, just north of Privett, Hants -- )

How about Chobham then ?

Nah, seriously - the bikes in for service and MOT on the 2nd, so provided:-

- no probs with the service etc
- & weather OK
- & not too far
- MaxVeg not coming

I could be tempted ...

OK on the last count, anyway - so Andy in Berkshire, Jazz in Oxfordshire and ST in Surrey - where is central? The Cross at Eversley Cross, perhaps?

and anymore for anymore?

Is Eversley - the place with 5 'bits' - really central, or is there a reason Bob ?

Its really close to me, so I dont mind going a bit further west if that helps ?

Where are you nowadays, I think you moved recently ?

Andy, are you starting from Newbury itself ?

No I just opened google maps, draw a line from newbury, didcot and lightwater, added in an "excessive mileage jockey" factor for me and Andy, then found a village pub, checked it in beer in the evening.com, offered it up to southern softies for their approval.

otherwise we could have ended up in Reading

suggest about 7.30 meet, I am working in Essex tomorrah

I can't come either, got 2 bald tyres and am awaiting a call from the shop, also got chain and sprocket going on. I can't get to the other bikes or I'd have got the Daytona out and joined you on that.

Have fun and TAKE CARE Jazz

Pub used to be the Frog (or Toad) & Stumps until a couple of years back, its opposite the cricket green .... changed hands, which is good, as I recall Hooray Harrys around .... havent frequented it for some time ...

still seems 'non central', even allowing for ones 'reputation'

sso I guess you aint coming straight from Essex ?

Given the A30 is just to the south, you and Andy could consider just west of Hook ? Anyway, your call chaps ! I wont get out of 4th gear twixt here and Yateley -- LOL

Cant remember name of pub, but very friendly, right on junction of A30 and the short road down to M3 Junc 5.... (A287)

Why?

S\t will have his MOT'd bike, Andy should still be up for it and I am now heading home from Essex to get the bike. Even fret is welcome, altho its a long way north of chavsmouth

of course if its monsoon rain later this afternoon then we will regroup. Perhaps all check thread at 1730?

sigh ..... worst service experience ever - charged 3 hours labour to maladjust throttle and clutch .... snatchy, wet and irritable 15 miles home after arguing about the bill and why it took all day and I have to wait for the MOT at 18.15 !!!!

Sio I took in a well behaved, pleasure to ride bike, and after a loaned Bonny was looking forward to me own bike again - wondered if I'd taken the wrong one !

That bleeding drizzle again and damp roads plus diesel .... managed to sideswipe someones door mirror too - not my best of days !

Have a good un chaps .......

Fuck me - its brightening up to the west, so maybe that last bit of drizzle I just rode thru was it for the day ?

Sno good tho, the bikes just not comfortable to ride all snatchy like that.... plus I think the tire pressures are wrong too - just cant be arsed to go and sort it now ....

Safely back (thats a first for an April meet) and it was good - sunny on the way in, reasonably warm on the fast ride back (note to self - buell headlights really are crap)

did laugh when we got to ST's recommended pub and found it was closed for a 12k service

so we went to the Lord Derby for old times sake, about 100 bikes there, no cops, pretty relaxed.

Hopefully Andy is safely back now as well, polishing off the cocoa and choc digestives

BTW - TQ - I am disappointed with you, going to a bike meet 5 miles from home when you could have gone 37 miles for an "official Southern softies" meet

BTW 2 - StuB - well done mate
