I've just cracked over the weekend an got a Garmin Zumo, has any one wired a sat nav into a Sprint ST 1050, are there any tips or things to look out for?

Any information on how to wire it in would be appreciated.

Have fitted a zumo on 07 sprint, I just used the included fused connector direct to battery. You could make use of the GPS connector which I belive is in the loom on the right hand side of the fairing. Would need to find equivalent matched connector or just cut the triumph one off. I have bought a ram mount from www.telferizer.com. It is a threaded stud with a RAM ball that replaces one of the handlebar securing studs, also bought the longer ram extension mount, this raises the zumo above my tankbag, worked a treat on a recent trip around Eire.

Zumo mount

Thanks pembrsgreyhound for the info, did the original fixing work although they snagged a baglux?.

I'm off to Corsica next week and i'm not sure whether i'll get the new mounts in time, it would be very useful to know whether the original fixings at least work although, not the best solution long term?

I've found out the Tiger GPS connector is the one I need to fix to the GPS fitting on the right hand side.

Thanks

i wired mine directly to the optimate connector i put on battery. i then put this connector on front of bike. so when i take the zumo off the bike i don't need to undo the security screw. all i do is just unplug the wire and undo cradle.

Hi Pemb

Any chance of getting a pic of the mounting bolt you got from Telferizer.

I assume it is a bolt that goes into the top of the clip on to replace the allen screw.

Do you have a part number and price please.

The dedicated Sat Nav feed is under the fairing on the off side under the head lights run your hand along the loom and you will find the plug.
Its got a blanking plug and rubber cover remove and I think you'll find its the same plug as a optimate feed plug.
The one on the nearside is for heated grips.
