Hi again, after my recent woes with knackered big end on 1999, 955i speed triple, i have fitted a 955i daytona engine of the same year. It started and ran fine, virtuallly exactly the same as the original engine but was advised to have it remapped to dayton spec to take advantage of the more powerful engine. The bike has a genuine triumph high level carbon can which was taken into concideration at my local triumph dealer when they put the new tune in. Since then there is quite a big flat spot between 5000 and 5750 revs which is exactly where you dont want one! other than this it goes like stink! This flat spot was definatly not there with the original speed triple engine so i would not think it is right? any thoughts or advice are much appreciated, Cheers.

No idea!
Pure speculation on my part but.....could it be a mis-match between the ECU (off your S3?) and the Triumph hi-level map for the Daytona? No doubt this can be tuned out whether via a TuneBoy or a PCiii with custom map but you're looking at spending a couple of hundred quid.

Thanks for the interest! I cross referenced the ecu, throttle bodies, etc for the speed triple and daytona and found them to be all the same, luckily both engines are of the same year.

Cross-Ref this thread with a new one in the EFI Tunes / Mapping Forum - you'll get a wider audience with knowledge. http://www.t595.net/messa.....appings/15.aspx You aint that far from X-Mans Dyno either !

How fortunate I was thinking of having him have a look at mine but I'm not sure I could deal with the uncertainty of knowing whether he was going to "go off on one".....think I'll save my money.

S'OK ST I wouldn't take his money if he doubled it. However anyone else is welcome at the normal discount prices for T595.net members. And that includes Fret.

How predictable I'd rather giver my money to charity than an angry, bile filled wannabe racer who needs a map to find the apex of a corner.

Pure speculation, but perhaps the S3's airbox/ tank bottom setup flows a little better?

In my standard speed triple air box that is the later bolted together one is a steel plate, i have been told that this is not there in the daytona one, does anybody know if this is true?
