having problems with my speedo, not reading 0 but anywhere between 9- 27and no more, have tried normal fixes as suggested but still no joy. from previous threads it seems that it may be a problem with the ecu, has anyone had any joy getting it changed under warranty? my bike an 03 is now out of warrantry but has less than 6000m do you think i would have any luck if i approched my dealer?

Wouldn't do any harm to ask.

The more recent factory tunes remove the 0,1 mph fault when the voltage is low - maybe yours is a variant of this problem but I doubt it, therefore I don't think it'll be an ecu fault.

More likely it could be a sender at the front wheel, has the wheel been off recently? It's very easy (apparently) to poorly locate the speedo drive and bugger up the gubbins inside. Overtightening the spindle has a similar effect.

I got the ECU flashed with a TOR map and it fixed the 0/1 speedo reading problem. I then reupped my TuneBoy tunes and haven't had any speedo issues since. I think low voltage or a loose connection causes a fault in the ECU and creates an intermittent speedo error. Just get a reflash under warranty at your nearest dealer or if your warranty is up, try reloading a TuneBoy tune...

I originally had the 0mph problem pop up after my battery ground came loose and stalled out the bike.

Good luck with the Stealer...Ummm DEALER...

My bike is STILL under warranty ('04 bought in '05) the dealer saw the 0MPH speedo malfunction, but wouldn't honor the warranty.... ("Well all you need to do is warm it up and turn it on and off a few times" is what they said ...!!!)I needed it to work, so I had to pay and have a new tune loaded. Fixed the speedo, but mileage and driveability was crap... I bought a TuneBoy and found they loaded a SPEED TRIPPLE tune into my Daytona.... With the TuneBoy you never need to deal with those asses except for occasional parts.

TuneBoy! Thankyou Wayne!,
