I thought about it but I've been told that only 1 allen bolt will then hold them in place.....that worries me.

mines a bit tight but you can pretty much adjust them to any height/angle you want. I went out for a play with a 12mm spanner in me pocket, adjusted them 3 or 4 times before i was happy.

Had a quick spin yesterday on mine, great improvement, set mine a little lower than some, but need a longer journey to finalise there position, also I needed to turn the L/Hand bar a bit the indicator switch was set at the wrong angle, now sorted.

swap mod was bearable but non ergonomic after a while, I like the Helli-bars much better. some one out there sells a bent-shaft('adjustable') bar that might work well with the clip swap mod, but Im guessing the Giles varios are the final word on it if you can save for them.

I did the swap on mine last year and found it a vast improvement. Like Ducatiman I filed a new slot into the bar so I could re use both allen bolts on each bar. A bonus is that the mirrors are better now, can see more of the road behind. The bike just feels more comfortable, takes all the weight off the wrists and yes, on full lock nothing fouls. I didn`t even bother re-tapping a new hole to re bolt the front brake resevoir....a decent length electricians tie does the trick....
