42 Rear, 36 Front. A good compromise for everyday riding.

And cue "mine runs better with 32/30" type replies

Depends.......how you ride, how much heat you generate into the tyres, how you like the bike to feel.

Fret and RM are right - it is all about personal preferences / riding style / feel. And heat/different times of year, etc. There is no one 'right' setting.

The 42/36 mantra chanted by bike manufacturers is the health and safety / nanny state everyman blanket recommendation that keeps the lawyers off their backs.

Personally, I've found different tyres from different companies respond differently to different pressures (hey - revelation, eh?), and the only way to find the best one for you and your bike is to experiment a little.

I'm not going to bother saying what I run because it's boring.

And you'd only take the piss anyway...

has anything fallen so short of the, already low, bar:
.

If the bar is too low then it means your tyre needs some air innit.

and if you are ever unfortunate to come across an airline at a garage with no conversion available remember.

1 PSI= 0.06893 bar
1 Bar = 14.50326 psi

You do the maths.

Ok I'm going to chip in on this one

I new a guy in the states who used to race did quite well by all accounts, he now rides on the road.

His advice was as follows when it comes to tyre pressure. There should be 4psi difference between a hot & cold tyre.

So check your pressure before going out for a ride, as soon as you get home measure it if they both have 4psi difference well done

If not its simple, low pressure will cause more heat (raise the pressure a bit), if the pressures to high this will lower the temp (decrease the pressure)

I'll get me coat

I have to say I've found the same as Col, in that book pressures are way too high (though this may be a personal thing).

When I took the Ape to be shod with 2CTs the fitter checked Michelin's recommendation, which was 36/32 (and coincidentally what I've been running for the last two years with these tyres, apart from on really cold winter days).

Aprilia's blanket recommendation, like just about every bike manufacturer, is 42/36.

For hard riding - even on the road - I find this much too harsh, and it does nothing to inspire confidence in the corners.

But as said above - each to their own. Experiment with different pressures in different conditions and find out what suits you.

110 psi front
120 psi rear.

A bit skittish in the wet through the corners though, had a few moments.
